“Thoroughly Engrossing…few directors get as deeply under the skin as Catherine Breillat”
-The New York Times-
“The comeback we’ve been wanting from Breillat: a film… that confronts the complicated, impulsive and all-too-often-regrettable choices humans make when desire takes control.”
-Variety-
“It would be a mistake to think of [Catherine Breillat] as merely a cinematic shock jock, going for effect over substance. Outrage is her weapon. In Last Summer, every shot finds its target.”
-Deadline Hollywood Daily-
“Breillat crafts some images that keep tingling in the mind long after they’ve faded from sight.”
-Daily Telegraph UK-
